HORIZON AIR TEAMSTERS TO PICKET IN WASHINGTON
Pilots Fight for Fair Contract, Demand Horizon Air End Delays
SEATTLE, Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Horizon Air pilots, represented by Teamsters Local 1224, will hold an informational picket on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 10:30 a.m. calling on the airline to end its delay tactics and agree to a fair contract. The group of nearly 650 pilots has been fighting for a collective bargaining agreement that addresses wages, staffing and training shortages, and operational issues for nearly four years.
Teamsters pilots at Horizon Air, a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group, perform nearly the same amount of flying as their sister carrier, Alaska Airlines, yet their wages remain behind industry standard due to the company's unwillingness to bargain a fair deal. Horizon Air has shown a pattern of mismanagement and corporate greed that has affected the negotiating process.
