Megapixel and Sony Unite to Showcase Integrated Virtual Production Ecosystem at IBC2026

accessnewswire.com

AMSTERDAM, NL / ACCESS Newswire / September 7, 2026 / Megapixel™ and Sony Europe today announced a joint technology showcase at IBC2026 (RAI Amsterdam), demonstrating a fully integrated virtual production (VP) ecosystem built on Sony's Crystal LED VERONA, Digital Motion Picture Camera VENICE 2 and Camera Tracking System OCELLUS, and Megapixel's HELIOS ® processing platform. The live demonstration unites two independently best-in-class technologies to form what the companies describe as the most powerful purpose-built virtual production ecosystem available today.

Staged as a joint demonstration on the show floor, the collaboration highlights the image precision driven by the pairing of Sony's color science and sub-pixel linearity with Megapixel's performance and virtual production-ready workflows.

Sony's Crystal LED VERONA, Digital Motion Picture Camera VENICE 2 and Camera Tracking System OCELLUS are engineered for the best result of virtual production enabled by their image and color precision. Megapixel's processing platform delivers the industry's best sub-pixel linearity and color precision. Together, the two technologies are designed to deliver color reproduction and image fidelity that no other system achieves alone.

On the infrastructure side, HELIOS's native 10G / 20G fiber output architecture with 2.5G interconnect on the tile side greatly simplifies large-scale LED wiring and reduces the footprint of rack gear. With modular inputs that support SMPTE ST 2110, IPMX, 12G-SDI, HDMI 2.1, and DisplayPort, the combined system integrates seamlessly into any broadcast or production facility without a custom signal chain.

Facilities like JAX Studios in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia have already adopted the Sony and Megapixel integrated ecosystem, growing its footprint in virtual production markets worldwide.

"At Sony, we are committed to delivering the imaging precision that virtual production demands, from camera capture through to display. By working closely with various ecosystem partners like Megapixel, we can help creators and production teams achieve greater color accuracy, image fidelity and workflow confidence across the entire production environment." - Rik Willemse, Head of Professional Displays & Solutions, Sony Europe B.V.

"Our goal with HELIOS has always been to make the highest level of LED image performance usable in real production environments. Working with Sony lets us demonstrate what is possible when leading camera, display, and processing technologies are designed to operate as one ecosystem." - Jeremy Hochman, Founder and CEO, Megapixel

The Sony and Megapixel virtual production demonstration will run throughout IBC2026, September 11-14, 2026, at the RAI Amsterdam, Hall 13.A10.
