ProLogium Appoints Antony Sheriff, CEO of Rimac Group, to Board of Directors
TAIPEI, Taiwan, Aug. 24, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ProLogium, a global pioneer in innovating and manufacturing next-generation lithium ceramic batteries, announced today the appointment of Antony Sheriff, CEO of Rimac Group, to its board of directors, effective upon the closing of the previously announced business combination agreement with Translational Development Acquisition Corp. (Nasdaq: TDAC). Sheriff brings nearly four decades of leadership experience across the global automotive and advanced manufacturing industries, with a background spanning product commercialization, manufacturing scale-up, international operations and board governance. His appointment is intended to strengthen ProLogium's board capabilities as the company advances from technology and manufacturing validation toward broader global commercialization and prepares for its next stage of growth.
As ProLogium advances the global scale-up and commercialization of its business, the Company is aligning the composition of its Board with the operating, governance and capital markets priorities of its next stage of development. Sheriff’s experience spans the global automotive ecosystem, the commercialization of advanced technologies, business scaling and cross-border governance—capabilities that are directly relevant as ProLogium builds on its established technology and manufacturing foundation to expand commercial execution and global customer adoption. His experience will also support the continued strengthening of ProLogium’s governance framework as the Company grows into a larger and more internationally scaled enterprise.
Sheriff brings extensive senior leadership experience across the global automotive, advanced mobility, electric vehicle, and high-end manufacturing sectors. As CEO of McLaren Automotive, he built its road-car business and helped establish an end-to-end operating platform spanning product development, manufacturing, and global market commercialization. His responsibilities included the development and market introduction of landmark models such as the MP4-12C and McLaren P1.
He subsequently led Princess Yachts and has served in board and governance roles at international companies including Rivian Automotive, Aston Martin Lagonda, and Pininfarina. Across these roles, he has built extensive experience in business leadership, product commercialization, operational execution, and board governance within premium and high-performance industries.
Since 2024, Sheriff has served as CEO of Rimac Group, which is the majority shareholder of Bugatti Rimac and wholly owns Rimac Technology. Rimac Technology develops high-performance electric vehicle technologies, including battery systems, electric powertrain systems and other electrification solutions, and works with global automakers on programs spanning technology development through scaled production. The role gives Sheriff current exposure to electrification, advanced manufacturing and the commercialization of complex technologies. That experience is directly relevant to ProLogium as it moves from technology and manufacturing validation toward broader global commercial execution.
Beyond his operating background, Sheriff brings board-level experience across international businesses and a cross-border governance perspective. As ProLogium advances its manufacturing footprint, global customer strategy and public-market readiness, the capabilities required at the Board level are expanding from technology and industry expertise to include corporate scaling, international governance and long-term value creation. Sheriff's experience across global OEM ecosystems, product commercialization, enterprise growth and board governance is expected to broaden the Board's perspective as ProLogium prepares for that next stage.
“ProLogium has progressed from technological breakthroughs and manufacturing validation to real-world commercialization, establishing the capability to turn next-generation battery technologies into products that can be manufactured at scale and reliably delivered to customers. We are now building on this proven foundation to expand global customer adoption, manufacturing capacity and commercial scale.
“What makes Antony’s experience particularly valuable is not only his deep understanding of the global automotive industry, but also his firsthand experience in building and scaling an automotive business—from product development and manufacturing operations to global market expansion. As ProLogium continues to scale its global business and prepares to enter the public markets, we believe Antony’s addition to the Board will bring valuable strategic perspective to our next phase of growth, global market development and corporate governance,” said Vincent Yang, Founder and CEO of ProLogium.
“Throughout my career, I have firmly believed that the true impact of a technology is not just in innovation, but, more importantly, in the ability to reliably produce and deliver that technology to customers while establishing a sustainable business that generates commercial value. This is what differentiates ProLogium from other solid-state battery players. After more than a decade of accumulating experience, ProLogium is ready to deliver today, thanks to its continued efforts to iteratively improve its technology and manufacturing capabilities.
“As ProLogium transitions into global commercialization, it is precisely this proven track record in production and manufacturing that positions the company to take on the global market. I am honored to be invited to join ProLogium's board at this crucial stage and excited to contribute my experience in global operations and manufacturing alongside Vincent and the ProLogium team as we pursue global growth and long-term value creation,” said Sheriff.
The appointment further strengthens ProLogium's board as the company advances its production in Taiwan, establishes its European manufacturing presence, and develops relationships with global customers. Sheriff will contribute his expertise in global automotive operations, product commercialization, corporate growth, and cross-border governance as ProLogium advances toward global commercialization and long-term value creation.
About ProLogium
Founded in 2006, ProLogium Group is an energy innovation company focused on the research, development and manufacturing of next-generation lithium ceramic batteries. The Company holds more than 1,200 patents worldwide, including granted patents and pending applications. In 2013, ProLogium successfully commercialized its solid-state battery technology, initially for use in smartphone charging accessories. Since then, the Company has delivered more than 2.4 million battery cells to partners and customers, including batteries used in in-vehicle audio systems, as well as approximately 10,000 automotive battery samples.
In 2025, ProLogium introduced its Superfluidized Inorganic Next-Generation Lithium Ceramic Battery, integrating the respective advantages of solid-state and liquid battery technologies to redefine next-generation batteries with both scalable manufacturability and cost competitiveness. In 2026, the technology was once again recognized with a Gold Edison Award.
ProLogium has also built more than 13 years of manufacturing expertise and was among the first to successfully commercialize a high-efficiency roll-to-roll ceramic separator coating process. Its Taoke Gigafactory became the world’s first commercial next-generation lithium ceramic battery gigafactory with a publicly demonstrated mass-production line, demonstrating that next-generation lithium ceramic batteries are no longer confined to the laboratory, but can be manufactured at scale as a commercially viable solution.
ProLogium’s first GWh-scale gigafactory, the Taoke Gigafactory, is located in Taoyuan, Taiwan. In 2024, the Company established its first overseas R&D center in Paris-Saclay, France, providing customized technology support for the European market. Its second battery gigafactory, located in Dunkirk, France, held the groundbreaking ceremony for the first phase of construction in February 2026 and is now advancing through detailed design and construction. Upon completion of the first phase, the facility is designed to reach 4.0 GWh of annual production capacity, which is expected to be progressively achieved by 2030. The Dunkirk site has a maximum design capacity of up to 44.0 GWh and will work closely with ProLogium’s Paris-Saclay R&D center.
In May 2026, ProLogium entered into a definitive business combination agreement with Translational Development Acquisition Corp. (Nasdaq: TDAC) and has filed a registration statement on Form F-4 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Under the current transaction structure, subject to completion of the business combination, receipt of applicable approvals and satisfaction of listing conditions, ProLogium is expected to list on Nasdaq under the proposed ticker symbol PRLG. For ProLogium, access to the U.S. public capital markets represents more than a financing event; it is an important step in supporting the Company’s next phase of technology commercialization, global capacity expansion and industrial-scale development.
