Could the New Noah's Ark Movie Beat Tom Cruise at the Box Office?
The new Noah's Ark movie 'The Flood: End of Mankind' faces competition from Tom Cruise's movie ‘Digger' which also releases the same date nationwide on October 1, 2026.
LAS VEGAS, NV / ACCESS Newswire / April 19, 2026 / The new Noah's Ark movie 'The Flood: End of Mankind' faces competition from Tom Cruise's movie 'Digger' which also releases the same date nationwide on October 1, 2026.
Both films unveiled their trailers at this year's CinemaCon in Las Vegas.
"This new movie on Noah's Ark could be number one," said one box office pundit at CinemaCon. "It has all the ingredients for a huge box office hit and would follow 'David' ($80 million box office) and 'King of Kings' ($65 million box office).
The CinemaCon attendees who all saw the trailer were left impressed with the scale of the new Noah's Ark remake.
"Great trailer," said one attendee. "They finally got Noah's Ark right. Everyone - especially the faith crowd - will see it"
Making a Biblically-accurate Noah's Ark was very important to Director Tim Chey. "It was also very therapeutic to me," said Chey. "We live in a world that closely resembles the days of Noah."
While CinemaCon is a Hollywood industry conference for theater owners, the overwhelming majority who watched the trailer were stunned with the epic scope.
One studio executive made an outright offer to buy the film. "I wish we had made this film," he said. "It's really incredible that no one has broached Noah's Ark after that previous disaster." He was referring to the Noah movie that came out a decade earlier that was shunned by the Christian/Catholic audience for having rock monsters instead of God's judgment.
A box office pundit said, "This could definitely open number one at the box office if they spend the P&A," he said.
Many CinemaCon attendees spoke of how 'The Flood: End of Mankind' was the talk of the town and generated a lot of buzz.
"This will hit big because it's the only Noah's Ark movie in the world geared towards the faith audience," said another executive from a mini-major. "The last Noah movie doesn't really count."
"This new Noah's Ark movie works for South America way more than 'Digger', said one South American attendee at CinemaCon. "All of my colleagues feel the same way."
So will 'The Flood: End of Mankind' beat the Tom Cruise movie?
"I'm not competing with anyone," said Director Chey. "I just love Jesus and want to glorify God with our film."
