Precise Time and Frequency, LLC (PTF) Receives Awards for Space-Based Communications Infrastructure Ready to Announce with Confidence?
Wakefield, Massachusetts--(Newsfile Corp. - August 5, 2026) - Precise Time and Frequency, LLC ("PTF" or the "Company"), a U.S.-based producer of precision time and frequency instruments and a wholly owned subsidiary of The LGL Group, Inc. (NYSE American: LGL) ("LGL Group"), today announced that it has received multiple awards from a major customer totaling $6 million. The awards support a next-generation direct-to-device communications capability enabled by a constellation of low Earth orbit ("LEO") satellites.
"We are honored to receive these awards from an important customer and view them as a strong endorsement of our team's performance and ability to deliver," said David Briggs, Chief Executive Officer of PTF. "The awards reflect the trust we have built through technical excellence, disciplined execution and a continued focus on helping customers meet demanding mission requirements."
The awards strengthen an important, existing, customer relationship and support PTF's growth strategy. Products associated with the awards are drawn from the Company's portfolio of advanced precision time and frequency reference products, including the PTF 3207A GNSS receiver, the PTF 1204A-MC digital distribution product and the PTF 1203C-MC RF distribution product. These systems are designed to distribute highly accurate and resilient timing and frequency references across complex communications infrastructure.
"These awards further validate PTF's ability to support satellite communications applications through technical expertise, application-tailored solutions and disciplined execution," said Jason Lamb, Chief Executive Officer of LGL Group. "They also demonstrate the Company's capacity to meet mission-critical requirements at scale and position PTF to pursue additional opportunities across space, defense and other timing-intensive markets."
The opportunity for precision timing continues to expand as communications networks, satellite constellations, data centers, power infrastructure and defense systems become more distributed, interconnected and dependent on accurate synchronization. These applications require increasingly precise, reliable and resilient timing references to coordinate data transmission, maintain network performance and support mission assurance. PTF believes its established product portfolio, engineering capabilities and U.S.-based manufacturing platform position the Company to benefit from this growing demand.
"We continue to build the PTF platform for growth through organic product sales, strategic partnerships and complementary acquisitions," said Marc Gabelli, Chairman of the Board of LGL Group. "Precision timing is an enabling technology across a growing range of critical systems, and we see meaningful opportunities to expand PTF's capabilities, customer relationships and addressable markets."
