Temporal Raises $550M at a $12.55B Valuation as Demand Surges for Reliable AI Infrastructure
SAN FRANCISCO--( BUSINESS WIRE)-- Temporal, the open-source platform which powers the world's most capable AI applications, today announced a $550M Series E raise at a valuation of $12.55B. The round was led by Lightspeed. Co-leads include Wellington Management, Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, and Tiger Global, as well as strong participation from T. Rowe Price* and SV Angel, widening the group of investors supporting Temporal’s global growth. Returning investors include a16z, Sequoia, Index, GIC, Sapphire Ventures, and Amplify.
The Series E raise reinforces Temporal’s major growth so far in 2026:
“As agents take on more critical work across more systems, every additional step creates another place to fail. In production, that work has to survive those failures and finish reliably,” said Samar Abbas, co-founder and CEO of Temporal Technologies. “Temporal was built for this problem. Durable Execution is becoming the standard for reliable applications at scale, and this investment reflects the conviction that much of the next generation of software will be built on Temporal.”
"Every team building on AI hits the same wall: the demo is easy, production is hard, because the systems around the models can't handle real-world execution," said Anoushka Vaswani, Partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners. "Most of the market solves that by locking teams into a proprietary stack. Temporal is the open, pluggable foundation that runs their agents and the systems they already depend on, and it's becoming one of the most important pieces of infrastructure in the agentic era."
The proof is in how customers adopt Temporal, expand its use, and run it at scale. From long-running agents and autonomous-vehicle simulations to payments and customer operations, Temporal supports critical applications at Anysphere (Cursor), Lovable, NVIDIA, Scale AI, Salesforce, Shopify, Netflix, Booking.com, JPMorgan Chase, Block, DoorDash, and thousands more.
With the new funding, Temporal will expand its global operations to meet worldwide demand, building on a team that has doubled to 570 employees over the past year. The round adds long-term institutional investors including Wellington Management, Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, and T. Rowe Price. Temporal will use the funding to deepen platform R&D, grow developer and enterprise go-to-market, and scale the teams and infrastructure behind its next phase of growth.
