Serial FinTech Founders Launch Singularity Financial Partners, The Operating Company for RIAs

Founded by wealthtech veterans Michael Roth, Oleg Tishkevich and Jim Zimmerman, Singularity combines operating, technology and C-Suite expertise to help established RIAs execute their growth strategies

HENDERSON, Nev., Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Singularity Financial Partners today launched as The Operating Company for RIAs. The company was founded in February by Michael Roth, Oleg Tishkevich and Jim Zimmerman, whose careers span InvestCloud, Envestnet and Microsoft.

Singularity is not a plugin, not software, not a consultancy and not an aggregator that buys firms and leaves how they run untouched. It takes an ownership position in each firm, through capital, operating work or both, and embeds its own people in the business to improve how it operates, hires, grows and uses technology.

Singularity has completed its first transactions and is operating inside those firms today.

Addressing the Operator Gap

Many RIAs have reached a point where continued growth requires more than selecting the right technology. Firm leaders must coordinate system migrations, hiring, service-model redesign, data infrastructure, acquisitions and succession planning, often without the internal resources available to larger enterprises. Singularity was created to address that gap. Its focus is the established independent practice that has outgrown what its principals can run on the side and wants operating talent of a caliber it would not otherwise hire.

"Most advisory firms were built by exceptional advisors who never set out to be operators," said Michael Roth, CEO and Co-Founder of Singularity Financial Partners. "They can see the growth. They cannot reach it, because the technology, the hiring and the operations all land on the same few people. Every good firm will be efficient in three years. Efficiency is the price of admission, not the prize. The prize is growth. We come in as owners, not vendors, and we build the firm around the people who built it."

Singularity's economics are tied to the firm's, not to a software contract or a fee. That structure is the point: research by Jerry D. Prince and Russ Alan Prince found only half of 311 advisors who sold their firms were satisfied with the outcome, and among those who sold and kept practicing, the most common regret was an acquirer that overpromised and underdelivered.

Why Now

Singularity's launch comes at a moment of transition for wealth management. According to Cerulli, 35% of advisors, representing approximately 40% of industry assets, are expected to retire within the next 10 years. Meanwhile, a new kind of company has emerged across accounting, law, healthcare and IT services: operating companies that take ownership of established firms and bring operators, talent and technology into them, rather than selling any one of those to them. Singularity believes wealth management is a strong fit for this model because financial advice is personal and regulated, and because transformation requires more than technology alone. Who operates those advisory firms, and how, will matter more than what they sell for, Roth said.

How It Runs

Singularity runs an operating model inside each firm: its own people working alongside the firm's advisors and staff wherever capacity is the constraint, from business development to operations to technology. Singularity's job is growth and efficiency, full time. The advisors' job is their clients. Supporting that work is a proprietary interface and agent framework that orchestrates a firm's data, custodians and third-party tools, with the firm's professionals in the loop, teaching the system as they work. The system is designed to capture and preserve the institutional knowledge that differentiates an advisory firm: how its most experienced practitioners make decisions, serve clients and execute complex work. Vendors can change, while the knowledge built within the firm remains part of its operating model and is owned by the firm. Its data layer sits on the Data Lakehouse from Invent, the wealth data company founded and led by Tishkevich.

"Infrastructure was the missing piece for years, and at Invent we built it," said Oleg Tishkevich, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Singularity Financial Partners. "But data alone does not run a firm. What has been missing is the human IP of each wealth management firm, the judgment and the way that firm actually does business, captured and orchestrated inside the firm's operating model. That layer cannot be bought off a shelf. It has to be built around the firm it belongs to."

Built by Wealth Management and Technology Veterans

The founding team has spent two decades in wealth and technology:

Michael Roth, CEO and Co-Founder, co-founded RetireUp, the retirement income planning software acquired by the Motive Partners-backed platform now known as InvestCloud, where he served as Chief Product Officer and Chief Revenue Officer of Digital Wealth. Singularity is his fourth company.

Oleg Tishkevich, Managing Partner and Co-Founder, founded Finance Logix, the financial planning platform acquired by Envestnet, where he served as Chief Technology Officer of Financial Planning. He is founder and CEO of Invent, the cloud-native wealth data platform and three-time Inc. 5000 honoree whose Data Lakehouse underpins Singularity.

Jim Zimmerman, Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder, is a veteran of Red Hat and Microsoft, where he led Azure Red Hat OpenShift and built cloud and AI infrastructure for Fortune 500 enterprises. As Chief AI Officer of Invent, he sets the AI governance and security standards Singularity's technology is built to.

Singularity works with established wealth firms and independent advisors and brings relationships developed across the industry, including custodians, asset managers, insurers, technology providers and service organizations.

Additional announcements on Singularity's partnerships and expansion are expected in the coming weeks.
